This is the blog for info relating to Hollye Schumacher and Eric Shunk's wedding!
The wedding will be here before we know it and the "save-the-dates" are going out shortly, however if you plan on coming, you should consider booking accommodations now since the dateis rapidly approaching and the North Shore of Tahoe is extremelylimited with rooms. We were not able to book a block of rooms fromthe Hyatt ( http://laketahoe.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp), which is about two blocks down from the location but theystill have a small supply of rooms available at this time. To book from them, check out Expedia.com for the best rates.Another great option is renting a local condo from TahoeAccomodations.com .Here is the direct link:http://www.tahoeaccommodations.com/cgi-bin/fnaval.pl In doing a quick search I found condos from $195/night - $600/night but these also can accommodate multiple families per condo. The $600 a night condo I found can handle up to 15 people.
You will want to find a property on the north shore near Incline Village.The only place we have a block of rooms is at the CalNeva resort (http://www.calnevaresort.com/)It's about a 20 minute drive to Incline Village and has affordable rates. Call and ask for the Schumacher-Shunk reservation.And as one last suggestion, the Northstar Resort, which is about a 20minute drive to the house, has available lodging as well. http://www.northstarattahoe.com/accommodations.aspWe will have more information going out in about two weeks but I thought it would be wise to start the booking process right away.
The address to the location of the wedding is 1047 Lakeshore blvd, Incline Village NV 89451 to help find someplace close by.
The airport to use is Reno and it's about a 45min drive to Lake Tahoe from there. Some hotels may have a shuttle service from the airport, but rental cars would be the easiest.
